bikers?
"It's not what you ride, it's that you ride."

Re-read my post. Perhaps the phrase "sort of like" escaped you.

(Thanks for the compliment, but I'm not going there. It's sort of like
what
the bikers say: "It's not what you sail, it's that you sail.")

unless of course you ride an HD and wear colors

I don't. I ride a BMW. But that's about to come to an end. But even if I
rode something from The MoCo, I woudn't wear all that silly orange and black
stuff. Looks like Halloween.

i used to have my office/studio in an old 1800's factory building.
behind this building was the "office" of a NY local chapter of the hell's
angels

That's Hells Angels. Caps, and no apostrophe.

as well as a place that used to chop up mercedes benzes on a daily basis
(i think it was a joint venture)
now.....these are some interesting characters

Indeed. Best avoided, unless you wish to join them.

sorry..but as hard as you guys might try.........alt.sailing.asa ain't got
nothing on these cats

Um, who made that comparison?

wanna be(s)?
tough sailors?
hmmm ....maybe
sailing?........ you all have a long road to haul.
................grains of salt come to mind

yep.........that keyboard is a mighty safe place.

Lots of chest-thumping at ASA these days. "Mine's bigger, better, and
faster than yours," and so on, ad nauseum. As I said, how ****ing silly.

Rancor toward the company. They've put two successive dealerships in our
area out of business within the past 4 years. They essentially set them up
to fail. Their corporate expectations for dealerships are unrealistic,
placing the dealer in a barely workable situation during excellent economic
times, and in an unworkable situation during less-than-ideal economic times.
So now we once again have no dealership in our area. Owners in my area must
now travel 150 miles or more to get their bikes serviced. And BMW USA
couldn't give a rat's ass.

While on the subject of BMW, have you seen the truly ugly cars BMW has been
turning out from the drawing board of Chris Bangle (Bungle)? No doubt our
current 323Ci will be the last BMW auto we own as well.

Loco, Does your boat have the head open to the V? Or is it the version with a
fully enclosed head?

Well, what would you expect from a German co.? My R100S broke a gear
in the tranny this summer. Another winter project. You're not getting
a gag Harley, are you?

I did see a BMW car that reminded me of the hull on a Mac26X. And I
still don't understand the concept of a ''luxury'' SUV. And what's
with the ''bigger is better'' routine with the truck / SUV crowd?
Soon I'll be in style while driving the Pete to the grocery store.

About that, I suppose. Thank God the French don't produce motor vehicles
worth being sold here.

An old airhead, probably. My favorite is the R100R, circa '94. I can do
all the work on an airhead. These damned oilheads literally require BMW's
computer diagnostic system to do anything, simple or major.

That would be the new 5-Series car. A beaut, aint' she?

Be sure to leave the box attached. And don't park next to a Ford
Excursion--it'll make the Pete look smallish.

So, the Merit 22 is a better boat than an Express 30!

Damn shame MP. My Beemer days ended when three idiots put me in the
hospital three times in one year. Nothing to do with the bike just got
disgusted over idito drivers who couldn't see bright yellow etc. even if
they bothered to look. The culprits, all whom statedthey 'didn't see me?
Fell into three categories 1) too damn old to be driving 2) too young and
too busy fiddling with make up 3) John Rocker's favorite an oriental with a
cellphone. Come to think of the exact same categories that caused most of
the problems when I was flagging traffic.
