Was a nice day here, also. I replaced the main halyard today. Taped
the new to the old, Boy was I nervous till it went all the way through. Scotty "katysails" wrote in message ... Was just perfect sailing today....8-10 knots of wind and almost flat conditions...we sailed down to just North of Grand Hven, tacked and sailed back.....about the most catastrophic event of the day was when I went to grab for the mooring line coming home and landed on that damn padeye...another bruise on the posterior....except for attaching the spinnaker halyard to it when not sailing to get it off the mast, we don't use the dang thing for anything. I really would like to get rid of it. -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 "Women and cats will do as they please..." If you sewed them together you might not need to get nervous.

I replaced the main halyard today. Taped
the new to the old, Boy was I nervous till it went all the way through. Next time sew them together, then tape them. It doesn't take a lot of thread and you can't pull them apart. I told a guy next to me at my old marina this one day when he was about to run a new halyard and he told me that he had done it before and that sewing wasn't necessary. About a half hour later I heard the guy cussing at the top of his lungs. The ropes parted inside the mast. It only takes one little hang up. S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" "Trains are a winter sport" |

I was thinking about sewing them, but the line runs sooo easy up the
mast. Would have been worth it just for peace of mind. Next time. Scotty "SAIL LOCO" wrote in message ... I replaced the main halyard today.
