My Dad went to Penn State for meteorology way back in the olden days after
the War....but he never said anything about the drinking...maybe it was
limited to the Engineering Dept.

He only went to SIT for 1 year, then transfered to Penn State.
Another great engineering school. When I was stationed at the nuclear
plant,
