my boat was hit about 4 years ago. lost some instruments and wires:
vaporized everything atop the mast. the strike found its way down the mast
into the cabin........thru the engine compartment, leapt out of the wirng
harness to the engine and out the raw water intake, frying everything along
the way.
when the boat was hauled, the bronze raw water intake crumbled in my hand.
overall the damage was not that bad.........lucky she didn't sink
some say i have another hundred years to go before another
worry.........we'll see!.

Once again Mother Nature decided to pay me a visit...thank goodness

the boat this time. Tuesday night our phone line was struck and it
fried
the modems in both our computers. I was on the verge of deciding to
ditch
my Gateway anyway since it didn't have enough RAM to go DSL and was

limited in upgrade capability, so I now have a new computer. Can't
get
my
individual account to poll for messages, though, so I'm going to have
to
see
what's going on with that after I do a few things to make this machine
mine...like delete all the crapola (games, MS Works, etc) and begin to
install my stuff. Love my new optic mouse...

Dont feel to bad we have been struck twice onboard redcloud.

Thank god its a steel boat! Only thing we ever lost was a TV and thats
because we has a antenna temp attached to the forward stay. I miss my
neighbors that are crusing, there mast was 3 ft higher than ours;o)
Now we are the tallest mast in the marina ;O(
