Lightning Likes Me

Once again Mother Nature decided to pay me a visit...thank goodness not at
the boat this time. Tuesday night our phone line was struck and it fried
the modems in both our computers. I was on the verge of deciding to ditch
my Gateway anyway since it didn't have enough RAM to go DSL and was very
limited in upgrade capability, so I now have a new computer. Can't get my
individual account to poll for messages, though, so I'm going to have to see
what's going on with that after I do a few things to make this machine
mine...like delete all the crapola (games, MS Works, etc) and begin to
install my stuff. Love my new optic mouse...

That's a relief. I thought Chartreuse got hit again.

But the BIG question is: does it have a decent soundcard capable
of recording.............................

YES! But I still have the same crappy mike....and Taddy...it burns both CD
and DVD.....I have to get into the music programs and see if they're as good
as Music Match...it has HP Jukebox, but I haven't tried it out yet...

Dont feel to bad we have been struck twice onboard redcloud.

Thank god its a steel boat! Only thing we ever lost was a TV and thats
because we has a antenna temp attached to the forward stay. I miss my
neighbors that are crusing, there mast was 3 ft higher than ours;o)
Now we are the tallest mast in the marina ;O(

Good luck with the new puter.

Jukebox is okay for regular run of the mill stuff... but I would recommend
you search the web for a better program/application.

Pinnacle has video with audio input that can be toyed with... there are
specialty apps out there that would suit you better.

Try Panasonic .. they have several digital recording devices available.
That's the way to go... but unfortunately I believe they are .wav file only.

Don't care about the video crap...and we ;re using Jukebox to record and
trade each others music files...Jukebox worked much better than LP
recorder...Wish I could afford Cakewalk, but I can't, so Jukebox will
probably be the best fit for what we're trying to accomplish (Until Tim
tells me different...)
