Why is it that either group of vets must be branded liars. Personally I
think they both deserve our respect, including Kerry, for fighting in
Vietnam, especially when many, like Clinton, ran off to Canada or Europe to
avoid service. Further I suspect their respective versions of Kerry's

The problem is, Thom, that you are looking at specific members of breeds you
have known...yes, there are exceptional qualities to each breed, but when
the industry and science look at the breeds of dogs over the world, the
results are that border collies are number 1 and standard poodles are number
two in the rankings...as a breed whole....I've seen several jack Russell's
that think their owners under the table all the time, but then again, I have
seen several that are dumber than a box of rocks...in general, according to
the experts, hounds do not fit the category of "smart"...they perform their
personal functions as dogs very well,, they track...but have you ever tried
to teach an afghan hound anything beyond coursing? They are, as a breed
whole, lovable but stupid. (Now all the afghan hound people are going to
come out and slay me...go look up the statistics people)

Katy,

I'm not putting Poodles down. They are smart, lovable companion but they
have their slow witted member also.

The two dumbest dogs I've ever seen were a matched pair of Std Poodles.
They also were probably the most loveable two dogs I've ever seen.

I was only in my teens and working in kennels. It was an awful time for
dogs. The early days of WW2. Their masters were be Drafted and the dog
people were going crazy finding homes for them. Std sized Poodles were a
problem due to size. These two lived with me for close to a year before
I found a home for them. Loveable they were but smart they were not.

Now, I'll have to ask this question again.
How do you give a dog an IQ test? What are the standards that are used?

I'm sorry about getting into another Off Topic discussion but Dogs are

CM,

I'm a Yank but have the same traits!

I think we probably do as good a job at self government as any
government on the Globe. We do have a couple of weakness in our system.
The weakness are named Republican and Democrat. They are also our
strength.

The two party system, at times, runs our government by their control of
the candidate they offer us as choices. We do have a system that kicks
in every four years (Election) At times some one breaks thru the two
party system and forces Party backing. Pretty much like Kerry did this
time. He cornered the nomination and forced Party endorsement.

I'm hoping he is the right man at the right time

Ole Thom

Capt. Mooron August 14th 04 05:37 PM

Well we have several Parties here in Canada... Liberals, conservatives, New
Democrats [Socialist], Green Party [Environmentalists], Marijuana Party [one
agenda/single platform]

They are not backed by big business and we have very limited lobby groups.

Still.. with this wide field of candidates a lot of people vote the way
their parents did. The Conservative and Liberal parties generally run the
show. This year we have a Minority Government. The elected Party is required
to work with one or both of the other major seat holders to pass
legislation. This forces party based agendas to the back and addresses
important issues.

None of the current candidates would be my choice for Prime Minister... but
it seems a saner system than what you have in the USA.

I dislike Bush because of his personal agenda and plethora of errors in
governing.... but I can't really say I hold much respect for his
opponent... he's a lot like Bush but sits on the other side of the see-saw.
What you folks need desperately now is Balance. Re-Establish your global
respect and go after these terrorists with a plan that involves the past
friends and allies you alienated under Bush's command.

You cannot successfully engage this war against terrorism unless you lead
everyone to the battle. The way it is now.. the terrorists have you fencing
yourselves in and are having the effect they want by forcing you to give up
the rights and freedoms of liberty to protect yourselves from attack.

Bush is incapable of this and thusly he is useless to you... Kerry is
unproven! I do like his running mate though.... came up through the ranks
and fought for what he got. Young blood and good ideals.

Best of Luck on your elections.... Canadians follow your election process
and candidates.... it's time you folks paid closer attention to the global
community.... information is the real power!

That would require a brain capable of coordinating

Kewl!!... this pup is only 6 mths old and taller than a lab already. To

she has reached a stalemate with our goose. The dog barking and the goose
hissing.... it's too funny!
