Hey Doug, where's the beef?

Please try and calm down. Horass will assume you're gay.

My heart is still racing from discovering that folks like you actually
exist, Jon. :-)

I don't like Lieberman that much. I can't put my finger on why.
He seems off somehow. I like McCain. Too bad we don't have
him now.

My personal choice would be McCain.

Of the Democrats, I like Lieberman the best.

Niether of these two scare me.

I agree on both counts. Isn't it unfortunate that the truly credible
candidates don't seem to be able to make it through the primaries any
longer?

Try and break in my house, and I'll put a cap in your ass as
you try and run away.

Depending upon where you live, Jon, that would get you 10 to 20. With
liberal judges you'd have a difficult time explaining why you shot the
intruder in the ass, rather than in the heart from the front.

Not even close... the right-wing hate machine is just getting
revved up.

Ah, yes, I get your point. The left-wing hate machine has been making the
right-wing version seem like a children's reading session by comparison.

So, you think it was ok for him to just sit there???

Absolutely. What was he to do that wasn't just a matter of posturing?

Is that what
you would have done?

Probably not, but I wasn't the President.

My pet goat seems like it rises to his
level of an urgent national matter. Have you seen the film of
him? He looked like a deer in the headlights.

I saw F911, if that's what you're asking.

He is nowhere near extreme enough to win the support of the Falwell
branch of the Republicans. I voted for McCain in the primary last
time, but the unfortunate state of affairs is that the parties are
controlled by activists and the activists tend to be extremists. When
you get right down to it, abortion is the only real litmus test for
these folks...the rest is just noise and smoke. I would vote for
McCain in a minute over anyone on either side, but he is like a man on
an island in Washington.

What was your opinion of it?

I only saw a few clips..... but it smacked of his 'Bowling for Columbine'
movie. That, I thought, was an overly simplistic view of a rather complex
problem. It seems to me he has repeated his format with F911 and brought
several valid points to light ..... doctored up with half truths and spam
fed to liberal agendas.

I found it entertaining enough to hold my interest. I fully expected to get
up and waltz out during the movie--not as a protest, but from boredom--but
did not. I did, however, find that I had to question much of the
contentions MM made. (As an aside, isn't it sad that Michael Moore is now
known as MM, rather than that siren of the 50s, Marilyn Monroe. A pity.)
So did some others watching the flick. And I, too, found his approach to
complex issues simplistic in nature, as if things were truly black and
white. But it was an amusing show. I especially liked the clips of Bush in
his various activities.

And still no one has yet given me a good reason for doing so. Please, I'd
really like to know why it was important for him to leave the kiddies seven
minutes early. At that point, the WTC had been hit twice and the Prez could
only stand by and watch in horror as did the rest of us.
