KING: News of the day, Tom Ridge warned today
about al Qaeda plans of a large-scale attack on the
United States. Didn't increase the -- you see any
politics in this? What's your reaction?

KERRY: Well, I haven't been briefed yet, Larry.
They have offered to brief me. I just haven't had time.

Kerry doesn't care about what happens here.

So John Kerry shows up big time at this fund-raiser last night.
It is full of vulgarities, full of insults, full of obscenities. It is
liberals in raw form, and Kerry is out there later talking about
what "great American values" were on parade at this thing.

KERRY: Every performer tonight in their own way -- either
verbally or through their music, through their lyrics -- have
conveyed to you the heart and soul of our country. You've
come here tonight to invest in that, and we're going to leave
here tonight determined to 'let America be America again.'

Let me translate:
Liberal values = vulgarity, insults, and obscentities

If our heart and soul is typified by Whoopi Goldberg, and Billy
Crystal, then I'd be ashamed to be an American. But it's not
it's only a disease called liberal extremism.

Bart,
I saw that interview, I believe Kerry did two things well he
1. he answered honestly and in a straightforward manner
2. he let the American people know how he feels about scare tactics
one could reread the Q&A this way:
King: do you think Ridge's report is a political ploy?
Kerry: yes, I don't have time for it.

I don't know who I'm voting for at this point, I'm learning more everyday
and hope to make an educated decision before November. It's difficult when
so much of the world spins reality for their own purposes. For me, the world
isn't as black and white as the Liberalism-Conservatism debate that goes on
here; I want to know more about Kerry. Quite frankly, I'm ambivalent
regarding Bush's performance. I'll vote for the one who can convince me he
is the best man. I don't give a damn what party he's with.

Currently, yes. We have an asshole and liar in the White House. He's

Actually, it's none of your business. Patriotism isn't about service. It's
about believing and supporting the US Constitution and the values
that it espouses. Just because one does or doesn't serve in the military
isn't good enough to be patriotic. Just because one serves the community,
isn't enough to be considered patriotic. It's easy to claim that... "I was

Calling someone unamerican is most definitely not patriotic, as it goes

What have you done for your country?

Ever served in the Armed Forces?

How many letters of appreciation have you received for
community involvement?

Patriotism is displayed by actions not declaimation.

Reacting with anger makes you more like Whoopi Goldberg,
and bin Laden.

"I was
in the military, therefore, I'm patriotic." That's a load of crap.

Calling someone unamerican is most definitely not patriotic, as it goes
against everything that we hold as values.

I don't have to prove my patriotism, and I don't ask anyone else to
either.

If you truly believe the above, Jon, I feel genuinely sorry for you. You've
lived here all you life (I'm assuming) and are clueless as to what
constitutes patriotism. I'd suggest a redux of basic American history, with
emphasis on such names as Patrick Henry, George Washington, and such.

No, no. Clinton left office in Jan. 2001.

Surely, your victory in Iraq means that the world is now safe????

I certainly feel safer.

So why do we need so much more security at airports????

Hmmm. I'm sorry you Irish need more since the Iraq war, but we "Murcans"
haven't increased ours since it was scaled up following 9/11.

Bart, I think you should be a bit more careful what you say.

The madatory financial data released by George W. Bush shows that he
donates 0.7% of his income to charity... including church charities and
in-kind donations. That's well below the "skinflint" level in my book.
Dick Cheney donates 0.000% of his million$ in income.

Liberals are Ashamed to be American's

You seem to be swollen with Bush/Cheney propaganda. It's bad for you.

There many real patriots on both sides of the fence. For one thing, most
of the Founding Fathers described themselves as "Liberal." For another,
in the 2000 election the margin of military votes for Bush/Cheney was
aBout 4%. This time it's expected to swing by more than that the other way.

You're right about the Bu**** administration.

I don't need counseling, I need more foot powder.

It was the attack on Iraq that makes us less safe. Getting
rid of Saddam was a good thing and might have gone well,
but Bu**** screwed it up.

Actually, they've accomplished a lot of their goal. They've forced us
to reduce our Civil Rights,

Wrong. The Bush administration did this. It was not necessary, and not

an
appropriate response to terrorism.

they've forced us to have to remove our
shoes before we get on a plane,

If this really bothers you, Jon, you should seek counseling.

they've effectively put targets on
the backs of every American living or travelling abroad.

In theory, perhaps. In reality, highly unlikely. I'm unaware of any
Americans traveling abroad (excluding Iraq) who've been victims or close
calls of terrorism.

I'd say we're
a lot less safe. Saddam had little to do with it either way.

That was my point. How did ousting Saddam make us less safe?
