A cruel Oz joke relating to the small population and the
inbreeding of the Isle of Tasmania. One has to assume that
Peter, having fled Sydney for Tasmania, ahs embraced all the
special features of the locality...

He went there to improve the gene pool.

of Oz?

As he's already in Oz, I assume you meant Oz as in crackerbox.
No, that Oz's gene pool desperately needs skimming, scrubbing,
and a violent dose of chlorine.

Bwahahahaahahahaha. Exactly what I was going to say!

South Australians. Live at the end of Oz's cloaca. One must make
allowances.

OK. Being a kind and reasonable person, I'm forced to admit that
you're right, and I was being unnecessarily cruel in my comments,
and that your move to Tasmania _has_ improved the local gene pool
significantly, as well as improving Sydney's. Isn't it wonderful
that there are still a few places where even a low achiever can
make a significant mark?

Yep. I have 3 bright kids still living in Sydney so you're 100%
correct, I've improved both gene pools!

Not quite the way you meant, of course, and you could have had the
decency to acknowledge a paraphrase of Piggy Muldoon.

Isn't it wonderful
that there are still a few places where even a low achiever can

Absolutely! If I can't make it here, I'll just have to move to SA where
the standards are even lower. After that, I'm afraid the next (last)
stop would be NZ. Oz is planning on skipping the intermediate rungs...

BTW purebred Tasmanians don't have pointy heads, they have 2 heads. My
boss is a prime example. In his case, 2 heads aren't better than one
tho, or a) he never would have employed me and b) he never would have
given up his last job (which I now have).

Plenty of grist flows down the Murray/Darling system. It only needs to
be a little thicker and you could farm it.

Sh*t...defeated twice in one day. Perhaps I'd better turn in my
keyboard, must be getting too slow in my dotage...

NZ? Waste of time and effort. MC tried it and look where that got
him.

Wrong way round. They farm it at Murray Bridge with cows to
thicken it further.

Was unaware of it. Normally when I am aware of such, I take care
to quote ("xxx"). In this case, I suspect parallel evolution in
language: an obvious derivation which is made in multiple cases,
not necessarily connected.

Ah well. I'll have my revenge on Sydney, Sydneysiders and Sydney
exiles soon (soon, soon!) (I hope...)
