Boobsie,

The universe (including time itself) can be shown to have had a
beginning.

Nope. Got a video of it?

It is unreasonable to believe something could begin to exist without a
cause.

No, not unreasonable...just very difficult.

The universe therefore requires a cause.

Correct?

Then so does your "god." Saying he exists outside of time is just something you
made up. Pretty silly, Josie!

Since God, by definition, is the creator of the whole
universe, he is the creator of time.

I read that he created the heaven and earth, but not time. Then again, I
remember Dune much better than the Bible. Better book.

There is no onus on him to prove that god doesn't exist. In fact, he's
already declared that he's agnostic - why would he seek to substantiate a
proposition that he hasn't asserted? The claim that stands to be proven is
that goes does exist, and the onus is on the believers to prove their claim.

Many creationists believe (or have faith) that the earth is no more that 6
thousand years old.

Holy fenders on deck, Batman! That's just crazy!

Does it have to be a divine cause?

Believe me, Bill. The primary reason for a belief in god is the simple fear of
death. Religion promises heaven and eternal existance. Roughly what was
promised to the terrorists on the 9/11 planes.

Nice fence you've got there Kook!

It's not a fence...it's not something that you have to take a side about
since both sides can be explained if you use reason and understand the use
of allegory as a teaching instrument....

MC insisted: Don't be modest, that's my province!

Heaven help we should have two modest men posting here! There won't be room
enough on the floor with all that lying about...
