Donal, No one is saying Jim will not enjoy his purchace. Most just say he could of done one hell of a better job in judging what to buy and enjoy then he did. You can enjoy an old soapbox derby car made from okra crates and old lawn mower wheels, but why stick with that ol soapbox car when you can buy a Jaguar. You might enjoy the Jaguar more then the soapbox car if your smart enough to understand that a jaguar is a better set of wheels. I know why your defending him. It's because, like him you paid to much for a second rate production boat. You and Jim are birds of a feather. I wonder if jims mac is going to have loose floorboards? You were doing well until you got to the "loose floorboards" bit. My empathy for Jim lies in the fact that I used to own a Bayliner 2455. I had 10 great years on it. With hindsight, I would have chosen a different boat. However, I don't regret my choice for a second. Jim won't regret his purchase because he is sensible enough to sail a boat within its limits. It won't perform in the way that he expects. That doesn't really matter. He will still get enormous pleasure from sailing. Regards Donal -- |
