weren't black. Did you have a confederate flag on the back window? "Dave" wrote (Frank Maier) said: Ahhh, yes. Driving through Mississippi in an expensive (foreign) sportscar with long hair in the 60s... After pulling me over, their stopping policy (I assume it was their policy because they used it on me more than once) was to kneel behind their opened doors with their guns drawn and hammers back and yell, "Outa the car, muthah****ah. Hands on the hood!" Funny. I spent two summers driving two different foreign cars (though not sports cars--a Morris Minor and a Volvo PV444) with out-of-state plates through most of rural Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and northwest Florida in the 60s and was never stopped once. However, I think Frank's imaginings are present day imaginings, not ancient history. Or perhaps it's because they knew my license plate because I was active with SNCC during that time. The scars I have from Louisiana and Mississippi police dogs are not imaginary. But I suppose you were down there to support your brothers in the White Citizens' Council, asshole. Frank |
