Now, about this 'what if' scenario you gave, combined with the other discussion in this thread = could a US-documented yacht have a non-US citizen as a skipper on a delivery along the East Coast and then out of the USA? Frank I am no authority, but as a matter of supposition, many boats are transported by delivery skippers from point A to point B. I would think it would be prudent to have some sort of written authorization on board. I am certain it would be simple enough to make an inquiry of the Coast Guard as to what, if anything, is needed to sail a boat for an owner to Europe. |
