When I replaced the main I went with "North" I believe a Kappa Cut for
the main is getting a little to heavy for the light air we have in the NW. Why couldn't you just choose a lighter cloth if you liked the design? S/V Express 30 "Ringmaster" "No shirt, no skirt, full service" |

I do like a hvy'r cloth in the main but the KAPPA CUT or even the MITRE in Dacron add weight fast with their seams. I guess it is my age. I like the old cross cut dac for the main Ole Thom |

I like the old cross cut dac for the main That's true if you stick with the same weight cloth but with a triradial you can drop down a "size" I bought a new triradial main last summer which uses a new square weave Dacron cloth and it's lighter than my old cross cut.
