poor Mooron! The B&D grinder is used every year to buff hulls. It was a 250.00
unit back then! I've changed the brushes only twice. It's also worked great at
splitting jammed thru-hulls. Forget it, Mooron. Some of us actually work on our
boats and don't want cheap tools.

Ahem...Okay, Scotty. Me thinks a little web surfing might answer your question.
Good grinders from Bosch, Porta Cable and a few others are very expensive, even
in the smaller sizes.
My old B&D is expensive by any standard and won't fry where many others would.
You don't work with tools so you don't know.
Yet another area where this group proves their lack of mettle. Now you're all
plugging Ryobi as a "good drill" over a great drill that isn't expensive to
begin with. Sound advice!

Go get the Ryobi, Scotty! Puhlease! It's what you and that tub (boat, not your
wife) deserve!

No yard on the planet uses a buffer on a hull, Mooron, at least not one I've
ever seen. They use big grinders with polish wheels. Polishers don't get the
job done, except maybe on a new hull that hardly has any oxidation. I have no
doubt that you own a silly automotive polisher and some of that colored
New-Wax!

Bob.... I should take this time to point out that actually using the tools
might effect their performance over a period of time.

My tools are used on cars (3), boats (3) and around the home as well. Last
season I did more work on various boats than you probably ever did. I'm sure
you couldn't even install a thru-hull. I've done them on 6 different boats. Two
seasons ago I expertly stripped off the paint from a CD 22 and restored the
original gell...did the same on a Typhoon. Gee, Mooron...tell us what grit of
paper to use on such a hull with moderate oxidation and some discoloring.
I bet you can't even tell us that.

Tell us again what the RPM is of your "Professional Grade Grinder".....
then try and clue in as to why buffers might be different to grinders. Then
try and think why they call it a grinder and not a buffer.
