Default 12v drills

You don't know how to wire and solder a plug? You can get them radioshack...

I have an inverter. I'd like a drill that runs direct off the batts.

Any of them can if you know what to do. You don't need an inverter for
12 volt rechargables.

All of them can if you know what to do. Oops! I guess that eliminates
you.

God forbid some newbie to sailing takes a cue from Bob and tries "buffing"

a
hull at 10K RPM with a Grinder!!!......

How about 4K? 6? Do you even know that some operate as low as 3500?

Still way too fast. 1500rpm is about as fast as you want a hull polisher to
run.

. . .unless you and gelcoat have no particular love for each other.

And yet 3M says 3K is a safe max. Hmmm. Think I'll beleive 3M and my own actual
experience on this one. One thing's for sure. Most of you haven't even tried to
use a grinder, so you can only guess at how well it works. I've used both and
using a grinder takes more skill, but does a faster better job.

Any 12 volt drill will charge off your 12V batteries (which are higher
than that I hope). What's the problem exactly?

He can't afford the drill, batteries or charger.

Respond to the gentleman's assertion, Bob - show that you know the
difference between a transistor and a thyristor.

Why, Wally? I never said that I was an electronics expert.

Bob, I'm really dissappointed. You are an expert on everything else.

Are you saying that you know nothing about electronics?

I only proved Marty
wrong about the power adapter,

Well....??? NO You didn't.

and he's trying to twist the thread into a new
topic. I'm not biting.

Yes you are!

And so he's exposed just like Mooron who never knew grinders could be

variable
speed, who never heard of using sandpaper on gelcoat, who never heard that

B&D
used to make pro tools...and so it goes.
It's got to be truly frustrating when all of you still can't prove a

single
point. Note that I posted links and even gave a page number for This Old

Boat
to expose poor Mooron.

We still haven't seen a photo of your 11 y/o variable speed B&D grinder.

It's that easy against the likes of all of you! Enjoy your Ryobi's!

Nutsy,

You sure as hell BUSTED YOURSELF

You can't send picture because your tools are locked up on your boat.
The Boat is hauled for the winter,

Nutsy take a look at the heading on the subject; 12V DRILLS. We are
talking battery powered tools

Why in the world would anybody that has a battery powered tool lock it
up on boat without power for the winter?

You "BUSTED YOURSELF"

You'll send pictures in the Spring; You mean when you can gather, beg,
barrow or steal all these great, best of the line battery driven tools
you are supposed to have. Are they locked on the boat without power and
the batteries are going dead.

You're not doing any house maintenance this winter then because you
can't get to your tools

You "BUSTED YOURSELF"

Your car won't be polished until next Spring? Oh,Oh;

Busted again; You've caught yourself talking out your asshole once again

All those pages about 12Volt tools in the ASA is nothing but Pure Bull
****!!

With all that BS, How do you dare say you BUSTED ANYONE?

Just wondering?
Ole Thom

I'm have a VERY basic understanding of electronics, enough to install stuff on
my boat or in a car, but that's about it.
Sorry! Are you an expert in electronics?

They aren't on the boat, Thom. They are in the storage building which is
heated. This is where everyone keeps their boat batteries as well. There are a
bunch of lockers there I'm lucky enough to have one.
Sorry....please try again! And take it easy!

My B&D grinder is AC powered. We were talking about battery powered DRILLS
Thom.
Pay attention. DRILLS. Do you think the battery packs for my AC powered grinder
will be hurt if the heat goes out?

Any tool that Bob**** buys, lasts. It never gets used.

Sorry, Mooron, I buy tools that last.

I bought a Ryobi 18V 1/2" drill, and it still is working perfectly after
several years of moderate use. But it's hard to argue with buying good
quality tools. I bought a Fein detail sander yesterday at a woodworking
show. It should last forever.
