Yes, but, for the last couple hundred years or so, at least here in the
states, Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. BTW, some stupid liberal PC morons bitched about one of the schools' Christmas decorations. They had to replace ''Merry Christmas'' banners with ''Happy Holidays''. Scotty "Donal" wrote in message ... "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... Does that mean they won't be celebrating Christmas this year? heh I assume that you know that a celebration at Christmas time existed long before Christ. The Christians hijacked a pagan festival. The same thing happened with Easter. Regards Donal -- |

Taking a video of your 6 y/o child in the school Christmas play is now banned because people might sell the images on the internet!!!! When we were expecting our first baby (now almost seventeen!), I was shocked by a midwife who told us that she didn't allow Cameras in *her* delivery room, because men would take the photos down to the local pub, and sell them!! That was the same evil bitch who wanted to let a student stick a cathater into my wife's bladder so that she could relieve herself!! I didn't allow that to happen - thank God! Regards Donal -- |

Seriously???? Is that a law, or a school policy? I'd tell the school to
stick it and video away. Who would sell pics of their own child's birth? And who would buy them? Am I too naive? Scotty "Donal" wrote It's even worse here. "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... Seriously???? Is that a law, or a school policy? I'd tell the school to stick it and video away. School policy. However, in the last couple of years it has become widespread. IMHO, you would have to be a bit twisted to even *think* that such a video could be used for immoral purposes. Who would sell pics of their own child's birth? And who would buy them? I really cannot imagine. The midwife told a large group of expectant parents about her "camera ban". I think that the potential problem only existed in her sick mind. Am I too naive? I don't think so. Regards Donal -- |

So, if you can tell me what you would accept as incontroversal(sp??)
evidence, then I will go and look for it. Proof. Physical evidence = none When it comes to ancient history, we can only speculate. There is no hard evidence that Jesus existed. He could easily have been a legend NOT based on a actual person. RB |

Today, I heard that schools are no longer allowed to stage "Nativity" plays at Christmas. Non-Christians might be offended!! I sent my kids to a Catholic school in the hope that they would get the Christian education that I had failed to give them. At the first parent-teacher evening, I was shocked to discover that the Catholic priest who taught Religious Education, was actually teaching Theology(perhaps "Religous Awaewness")!!! The government has laid down the curriculum for the teaching of religion. All major religions must get equal coverage. So my kids are being taught about Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, as well as Christianity. Catholocism doesn't get a look in. It is really m/s/b/ad that the government feels that it must override the wishes of parents in this way. This method ot teaching can only result in a generation of atheists. Regards Donal -- |

It's a real shame, a few bobspit type jerks have to ruin it for the
majority. Where will it end? SV "Donal" wrote in message ... "Scott Vernon" wrote in message ... I certainly agree that in a private Catholic school, the government
has absolutely no right to say the amounts of each religion your children should learn. However, if these other religions are discussed as they relate to your Christian beliefs, and your beliefs are emphasized, this can become a springboard for conversations about the differences in the world. More importantly, conversations could begin about how similar we are as well. If you can talk religion now with your kids, you're way ahead of the game! Regarding the Christmas decorations...Amen! We're celebrating the birth of Jesus, let's say so. But is it so bad to wish our friends of other faiths well at thier special time of year also? Isn't that what the whole birth was about? Best Regards and Merry Christmas! |
