Default Which Radar?

They are also newcomers on the radar scene by
comparison to other brands.

I don't believe JRC is a newcomer. They were building pro radars for quite a
while, and also have some nicer higher end units.
Calling it the K-Mart of radars is a bit extreme. It's fine for lite use, which
is what most of us face.

They were the manufacturer for Raytheon. Raytheon had a problem with
them(Don't know what) and went elsewhere. They continued manufacturing under
their own name. So they have been in the radar market for a while, just
under a different name.

I don't think they made all the Ray units, but they did make the first small LCD radar for Ray. The
screen display wasn't very good. The new Raymarine stuff is much better.

FWIW. I had a Raytheon 10XX on my last boat, and a SL 70 on the new one; I've been happy with both.
A nice Ray feature is that it plugs into Seatalk and displays a loot of info on the screen.

Let's Keep Sight on what's key here!

Mooron claimed JRC was "new" to the market and was wrong.
And for the 35463rd time, I was right.

Thank you! Spin it, baby!

Wrong again.... JRC hasn't to my knowledge provided a consumer grade radar
unit for pleasure craft until 1998.

Can you prove otherwise? I didn't think so Bob!

You stand corrected as usual.

Sorry CM, JRC built more than I thought, including my old 10XX

I'm saying they didn't market a consumer brand name until 1998. Built them
maybe... marketed them.. no way.

That's not what you said. You stated that they were new to the market, which is
100% wrong.
Now you wish to amend it by saying "consumer grade!"

Bwahahaha! Your silly!

They are "new" to the "Market".... no unit labeled JRC was "marketed" prior
to 1998.
