Thursday, blowing 18~25 kts, me with one hand on the wheel and a fried
chicken leg in the other. Crew with chicken and beer in each hand.

Oh, BTW, I have a fin keeler. :-p~

Well if I had a known you were a Crab Crusher afficonado I wouldn't have
bothered Trollin' Ya so Bad! ;-)

These finicky fin keelers around here drive me nuts with their constant
harpin' on about a 1/10th of a kt here, a tweak there and it's no wonder
they all wait to reach a dock to drink.... I mean how many brews can you
afford to lose overboard at those angles of heel without it impacting your
annual new suit of sails purchase! Talk about anal retentive sailing! They
don't dare take the damned flimsy things into real water and then feel

like
everybody wants to hear about every 2 hour sail to nowhere they take.

It sucks... they have every toy on the market they haven't yet figured

how
to use any of them. You know Ya just can't trust any of them... if it's

not
nailed down and they're nearby, they go "French" on ya and will steal
anything they can walk off with.

If you see a sailboat in trouble... ten to one it's a fin keeler! I've

heard
of one going back and forth in front of a clearly marked and lit entrance
to a safe easy harbour at night, under power with radar, GPS, 4 compasses,
cruising guide, chart and tools one could ever require to fix a three
dimensional, pin point, location..... updated every second!.... and was
still totally lost and confused! It's a wonder some of these Fin Keelers
can even get out of bed let alone tie their laces!

Look Bob.... I ain't jealous because I frankly wouldn't own any of the
boats you deliriously rant about. Talk to me about a real boat like a Cabo
Rico... then I might get a bit jealous.

As it is I've owned the same boat for over ten years... now guess who knows
their boat better! :-)

Howdy Moron,

Looked at the Cabo Rico's I could find on-line. Nice looking stout
boats.

Question: Do you still think you have things to learn about your
vessel?

I've had mine for 10 years this coming January, It a full keel crab
crushing mo fo 2.

Buy a real boat.... a full keel cruiser.... then we'll have issues. Until
then it's just another brand name fin keeled mackerel rake and I don't care
if you put satellite guidance system on it... it ain't gonna detract one
iota from the sheer elegance, grace, power, stability, seaworthiness and
comfort of my Overproof!

The pilot house model of ANY sailboat is just plain
ugly. It ruins the lines. If you want a pilot house
then buy a tugboat like little Rickky's.

Right On Joe....

To answer your question.... I know way more about Overproof than I did when
I first bought her but nowhere near the amount I have yet to learn. Because
I approach it as a learning curve I'm better attuned to my vessel than
anyone else. I know every creak and groan, every shudder and surge.... I can
tell just from the feel of things down below if she's sailing to optimum or
in the groove. I'll wake up at night at anchor and just know from the
movement or sounds what needs to be done to have her set back to a gentle
quiet motion. I know most of what's wrong with the boat and all of what's
right. I know most of what she can do and can't do.

It's the intimate knowledge of my boat that allows it to be greater than the
sum of it's parts. I pity those who float aimlessly from vessel to vessel
never satisfied with any of them.

IT helps the lines a lot in a heavy downpour on a cold day.
The Tayana 37 PH is not an ugly boat.
Then again, you actually think your Coronado 27 looks like a boat!
