Jax All of whom, IMHO,can probably back up their talk with some proof, most of whom don't have to because they don't spend the majority of their time here bragging about their sailing prowess or how often they sail, blah blah blah. Maybe it has something to do with the presentation, posting subject lines in all caps, for example. Or posting a message like "Night Sail", like you had invented the idea or that no one else could possibly have sailed their boat at night, at least no one in this vicinity.I have a 13 year old at home and it reminded me of the sort of things he would say when he was 3-Look at what I drew Daddy, Look I went potty in the toilet, you get the idea. Cute in a 3 year old, disturbing in an adult. If some of them go slightly over the top, they are at least humorous, your posts are completely lacking in any sort of humor. If you lie excessively, people will assume that just about everything you post is a lie. The most charitable thing folks do is call you nutsy, you can cut a person some slack if they have a mental illness, but it isn't the sort of thing you want to expose yourself to on a regular basis. My apologies to anyone I might have inadvertently left off the list, it's rather late and past my bedtime. And it looks like I'll probably be sailing to Bermuda before you after all, of course, I didn't really think you would at any time. John Cairns |

If you have to go by car in NYC there
is no place you can get to in 15 minutes. I live in Queens, in Kew Gardens. The Whitestone is about 7 minutes away, and city isle about another 7 depending on how I catch the lights. Bad traffic on the whitestone can be a factor, but we rarely cross at rush hour. Sorry, Thom, you lost again! RB |

Bob, I live 10 minutes (at most) from where I teach sailing
and have 7-day access to the boats. In fact, if it weren't for a couple of trees and a small hill, I could see the boats I sail on regularly. I keep my boat about 1-1/2 hours away and mostly sail it on weekends, although occasionally during the week. In that area, if I don't feel like sailing my boat, I have access to dozens of boats. Seems to me that your non- contest mentality indicates that you lose big time once again. "Bobsprit" wrote in message ... So? Nutsy,
Only in NYC would it take more than 10 minutes to travel 2 miles and I admit, at 77 yrs, it takes me 5 minuted to walk to Slip# 60. That is 15 minutes It takes you that long to get on and off the " Wigglestone Bridge" My car is in an attached garage. My dog and I can be on the way in 2 minutes from the time I take the car keyes off the hook. Take is a total of 17 to 20 minutes to be on my boat. You can't even get your car out of that rented garage but I'll give you 10 minutes, 15 minutes on and off Whitestone That my Nutsy friend is 25 minutes, driving time in Kew Gardens and driving time on City Island a Min. of 5 & 5 which makes 35 minutes. I know an awful lot are quicker to their boat than me. You don't even come close in distance or time Nutsy, my drink is "Manhattan" (One place where I stayed true) I'm planning on trying to make Homecoming next Fall at Farmingdale State. Don't know for sure if I'll be up to the trip but you look for me come next Sept I'll collect my Drink then and get my ride on that "Step Ladder Stern" boat "I'LL DRINK TO THAT, THEN!!!" I should be getting close to the oldest and farthest Alumni to attend OT |
