Jeff, you are clearly and idiot and a dangerous one.
1) There is no evidence that it will "do the job."
2) A bent boom will effect resale value of even a cheap boat like the 27.
3) Now you admit that it's not a "proper" repair.

A really nice 27 just went for a wopping five grand on ebay. It was in mint
condition and had a tasteful interior. Way different than the Putzes boat.

I can't figure why he used galvanised pipe when he could have used aluminium
conduit. No dissimilar metals and saving weight.
