I'm looking at a mid-1960s Jensen Cal 28. Seems to be in great
shape. Inboard diesel (one cylinder seems to be quiet and doesn't smoke with minimal vibration - for a one-banger), two jibs, main in good shape, standard electronics (nothing fancy), interior is newly painted, hull appears clean, standing rigging looks fine. Comes with a spinaker and pole, anchor (not chrome unfortunately), has a 2-burner propane stove, teak inside seems to be in decent shape, mostly. It's a flat top (no raised cabin). Two deficits that I can see... it has an illegal head, so that has to get changed... it has a self-tacking jib mechanism. Looks ugly, can't imagine why I would want it set up like that. I can get it for $6K and they'll split the haulout and survey with me. They were asking $9K. I'm going to do a sea trial hopefully soon. Jonathan |
