I attribute it to the fact that when he swims in this pond he doesn't make
sufficent waves to attract my attention. Since you're the self professed
best fisherman around.... try to hook him. If he starts to panic .. I'll be
all over him like a Great White on a Seal!!!

Either that or you could wait until he decides to wear a wetsuit and swim
near a seal colony! :-)
