Default Prove me Wrong!

I ran the search for boats 30'-40'
priced from 0-99k and came up with 400. Question is, why would someone want
to buy a boat that they can't sail competitively?

John, you're not acting too bright.

Why, becauase he is actually taking a look at what's on the market before making
announcements about 'the best boat'?

I need a boat where getting a good night's
sleep is possible and without forcing my wife to sleep in another bunk! VERY
few boats under 40 feet have 7 foot bunks.

Relatively few boats over 40 feet have 7' bunks. Especially mass-produced boats.

However, it's all out there. If you look hard enough, you'll find.

Now throw in the perormance criteria
and not buying a bloated old boat.

You mean like a bargain-basement leftover that is actually smaller & slower than
your last 'stepping stone' boat?

Sorry.

Yes, you are, Bubbles.... but mostly you're nuts!
