First 36.7

Nope...another boat built for short sleepers and with a cheaply done

interior.

Tell us about it, Bob.

Does it have a wheel or tiller?
How much bigger is the cabin than a 33.7?

You're the expert! You da man!

Real question..... Why was I not impressed by the 36.7?

true if you only have $20K to spend otherwise there are many better boats on
the market

The C&C 34XL 36 footer is the best performance cruiser under 40 feet and

under
100K on the used market!

Every boat represents a compromise of some sort. The easiest compromise to
spot is between cruisers and racers.

A cruising boat will tend to have a bigger cabin. A pure racing boat will
have a big cockpit and a small(if any) cabin.

The 33.7 has very nice accomodation below decks, and yet she performs well.
When I heard that a 36.7 was available I was quite excited. However, when
I saw it I was *very* dissappointed. The 36.7 is almost a pure racing
machine. The accommodation is no bigger than the 33.7's, because the
cockpit extends into the space that could be occupied by the cabin. The
unusual tiller means that a family could not relax in the cockpit, even
though the cockpit is huge.

It all depends on what you want from a boat. I want performance, but I
also want to take my family out sailing. The 33.7 has been perfect for us,
and I'd really like to find a slightly bigger version of the same thing.

Does that answer your question? (if it doesn't, then ask again!)

Not possible.
No reputable designer would design a boat with a big cockpit
deliberately, surely they're a massive liability at sea, particularly
when pushing the boat hard in all conditions in a race.

Just ask Cappy....he knows.

There you go, taking the **** out of your "inferiors" again.

I was just trying to give an honest answer.

I hope that when I have your experience, that I don't talk "down" to my
inferiors like you do.

You feel superior. So what?

Here I am taking a dig at my dear old Cappy and you think I'm taking a
shot at you!

A shot at anyone seems almost always to give Donal a flesh wound. But that's
what makes him a fun catch when the fishing is poor.

He's bleeding so much, I'd be worried about sharks too.

Well, Mooron fancies himself a shark, but he's too far up Donal's pee-hole to
smell the blood!

I attribute it to the fact that when he swims in this pond he doesn't make
sufficent waves to attract my attention. Since you're the self professed
best fisherman around.... try to hook him. If he starts to panic .. I'll be
all over him like a Great White on a Seal!!!

Either that or you could wait until he decides to wear a wetsuit and swim
near a seal colony! :-)

36.7 cockpit

That's interesting about the 36.7 cockpit. I had heard the opinion expressed
that for a racer its cockpit was too small...

For example, this review:

Ooooh Touchy little devil!!

Read my post again. This time try to imagine a liberal sprinkling of
smilies!

Here I am taking a dig at my dear old Cappy and you think I'm taking a

It's more *fun* that way.

Donal, I may be your superior but you don't need to display your
inferiority so openly.

Why not? You like to feel superior, and it's no skin off my nose to say
that you are indeed superior. I'm just being sensitive to your ego's
nourishment needs.
