Default The Final Blow

| Yep, it stands 3 metres above MHW and is black granite..

Colour is a moot point at night or for Radar.

| AFA Bubbles is concerned, as I've said before, erring on cautions side
| when unsure is a good thing.

May I point out that Bob has been overdosing on trepidation for many years.
While caution is wise.... Bob has a keen ability to take it to the
ridiculous end of the spectrum.

| BTW there is an entrance up Nth of here where the leads visible from
| well offshore
| will take you right over a sandbar. There is an ill defined chanel lit
| bu one small buoy on the end of that bar. You must run down near the
| shore, take a dig out to sea behind the bar then line up with the
| leads and turn in. Further in you pick up another set of leads that
| guide you thru the very narrow channel. Very tricky and has caught out
| many a confident man and one woman, usually those with plenty of miles
| coming in actoss the Pacific/Tasman from NZ, or the Sth Pacific
| Islands.

Yes Oz... there are many "tricky" entries in lots of places. Reference to
charts, being aware of the tides and dare I say it... verification of
seafloor topography between charted depths and sounder readings ;-).... all
assist in making port safely, in a timely manner. If you combine the above
with Radar and GPS it becomes fairly obvious that with basic mathematical
skills and some navigational understanding... a comprehensive picture of
what is required to access the destination can be formulated in short order
|
| There is always good reason for caution entering an unknown port at
| night....as you well know.....I suspect.

Caution... yes of course... but that is far removed from the abject fear
and panic of uncertainty due to poor preparation and lack of a fundamental
understanding in regards to basic navigation as exemplified by Bob.
