Default Pneuma's New Main (Long)

Oh Boy!!

Well, first of all I picked the windiest day of the summer to put it on.
It looked OK but it was way to windy to get a good look.

When I checked it out in calmer conditions I found a horrible fit in the
Tack area of the sail. They never gave the sail the 4" offset at the
gooseneck that was specified.

Scotty, This should be of interest to you. I took a picture of the
misfit but wouldn't you know my picture scanner on the Web threw a crap.
That is why you didn't get the picture you asked for.

North is sending the measurer up tomorrow or Tuesday.

I just couldn't wait that long to go sailing. So, I decided to pull the
bulge with the Cunningham and sail it that way until "North" came to
look at it. It pulled into the best looking sail you've ever seen!

It got me thinking. The old brain isn't as fast as it use it be ( You're
right Simple)
There is nothing wrong with the sail other than it is longer in the
foot. I just have to get the outhaul car farther out on the boom.
Problem: I have the reefing system mounted on the end off the boom.
Solution: I no longer have a shelved main. I can slide the reefing loop
up the boom because of the loose footed main! God takes care of Drunks,
fools and little children! Brought Pneuma back to her slip and cleaned
the end of the boom of blocks jam cleats. My Reef is now a simple loop
around the boom, with a Cunningham hook and a pulley located under the
reef points on the boom ahead of the outhaul car. The Outhaul line is
now connected to the Leech Crindle, Which is connected to the outhaul
car.

I wire brushed the boom track to the very end, so the outhaul runs
clean. Still have about three inches left on outhaul.

Sail set PERFECT!

I'll get pictures to you as soon as I can
I do have another problem. My sail cover is now to short. Need a bigger
cover.

Well, money will take care of that and Photo Unit

Ole Thom
