Finished the last week of our summer sailing camp. Gone are the whining
little kids. Gone are the 8 hour days of dinghy sailing. Gone are the
bikini clad assistants.
All in all it wasn't bad, though this session was the worst. 80% of this
sessions kids couldn't (or wouldn't) sail when they arrived. Turned them
all into competent sailors. The mom of the biggest whiner gave me two cases
of Dos Equis for getting her son to get over his fear of the water and
sailing.

If it rains, we sail. If there's thunder and lightening, we're off the
water.
This past week we had three days with no wind in the morning. We held
kinetics relay races. Kept the kids in the boat and they actually learned a
little about propelling the boats.

How is it that you can train kids for money and not have
a USCG Captain's license?

A USCG license is not required for instructors.

LOL you .... supposedly .... have a license. Imagine the mess if you
were teaching your versions of "Rules" and boat handling, under power!!!
Thankfully, no certified institute would hire you except as a prime
example of the "how not to do it".
