How do you go about crewing on someone's boat?
Join your local yacht club as an auxiliary member...it's cheaper than a regular membership and is limited to the "boatless"...then find out when they're teaching the JY 15 classes...start showing up on Wednesday nights for the beer can races and offer to be "rail meat". Don't expect to do anything the firs couple times out except maybe get yelled at and told to move from side to side...watch and listen to everything that is being said and done. Watch the kids sail their Butterflies. Better yet, go sail one of the club's Butterflies. The more you're around, the more rides you'll get, especially if you show some aptitude. -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A.
