Are you sure that's updated? It's not much of an advance on a
couple of years ago (nor is rec.boats.cruising, though the
relativities are about the same). Perhaps we plateaued with the
resignation of CN? Must try harder I s'pose....

Tad,

For good or for bad this group owes a
"thank you" to Neal Warren. I remember when he came aboard and forced
the change.

He gave us hell for not having a since of humor. He made us understand
the joy of an unmoderated group. He and he alone taught us (ME) to not
take myself to serious.
THANK YOU NEAL, you have made this group FUN. Now don't let this go
to your pin head. You started but a damn good supporting cast helped
you. Still does!

Yeah, I guess you help. You had "Yoda" at the time and your major goal
was to cause grief to that MAC owner, what was his name? Not Scott.
Scotty has thicker skin.

There were a lot of old timers that were driven off, even me for awhile,

Ed Gordon.
But Scotty is as good a target. He bites on any bait! He's dumber than Ganzy,
though he does display a certain wit, recently smothered by his truly angry
posts.
I prefer the lighthearted folk like Donal, Jeff, Mooron, Ozzy. They can take it
and dish it out as well as anyone. Poor Scotty seems ready to pop at times.
Very sad.

Thom, you are one of better people in the group as you dispense actual sailing
content from time to time, even in the midst of trolls. Doug, Jeff, neal and
even Steve along with a few others have the same quality and it helps make the
group worthwhile.
The total dead weight he Scotty, Ganzy, Skitchy, Binary Bill. These guys
rarely start a worthwhile thread and are just leeches sucking off everyone
else.

I think Neal can back from his
first extended cruise refreshed, happy (?), revitalised, but not,
repeat not enraged anymore ...
So what you're saying is that he is quite happy to be just an old fart and has resigned himself to living the rest of his life
attached to an Atomic 4 engine block in a sea of stagnant water. Somehow not the Cappy portrayed so accurately in the Internet
Opera. What a shame that he has let life intrude on his life that way.

Ohhh Youch!
Katy, Consider the fact that Cappy may be suffering the effects of
chemical castration after being found with one of his underaged
nymphettes. The prison sentence and later release on condition that he
undergo the drug treatment may explain his previous long absence
(sailing to Cuba..yeah sure!) and return a meeker individual.

A pointed stick wouldn't even get most female voices "up there". It's very complimentary that you think people have 5 octave
voice ranges but the reality of it all?

THis is the USA, not Germany....the punishment here is to throw them in jail and let them bother each other there....when they
get out they put them on a list so you know where they are and then when you find out they're next door you put your house up
for sale...but by then everyone knows and the property value has been destroyed because of the list so you're stuck living next
door to a sexual offender. It is lawful, though, for you to own a gun, so you buy one so you can mechanically castrate the
offender if he ever comes near you or your own.

OK OK, so it was wrote for an oboe! We've agreed to pull the
opening down an octave, haven't we? And Bobsprit has a
five-octave range, he just won't sing any of it. ANyway, Seahag's
cast as BOTH the top soprano AND one of the few REAL sailors, so
she's gotta go to C, see?

you might be surprised at how many people want to read and talk sailing.
MANY come, lurk, and get the hell out before the stench permeates our
clothes. I come maybe every couple months to see if hell has frozen over.
Nope, same bunch of bar-clods hanging over their grog mugs and hanging on to
the stools because the only motion they ever experience is the woozy effects
of too much booze and booze-fuelled ego. Real sailors do not tie up to
the city's sewer outlet.

Do you really think he actually went anywhere? He knows so little about
sailing and all related skills that he is a hazard even when moored, and
couldn't successfully complete an afternoon daysail much less a lengthy
cruise.

What, you want to see Duke win a football game?

BTW of the sailing discussion forums on the internet, this is one of the few that
will likely provide a useful answer to a serious question. There are always a few
ongoing sailing discussions here. You just have to be smart enough to sort it
