land-locked The Great Lakes are not land-locked...better look at an atlas now and again....The Great Salt Lake is land-locked...you can travel from any of the Great lakes to the Gulf or to the Atlantic with a sailboat...as long as you know how....or want to....I have sailed in the Gulf, I have been to the Atlantic and the Pacific. I still prefer the Great Lakes. They are fresh water, there are no creatures that feast on man, there are no poisonous stinging things, the freighter traffic is much lower, and the average age of the person out on them is well below 65, unlike your habitat where the average age is well above 65. Even if I were to choose someplace else, it would not be subtropical...would probably be more Eastern seaboard or Northwest. -- katysails s/v Chanteuse Kirie Elite 32 http://katysails.tripod.com "Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea." - Robert A.
