Yeah. They're not all like that, but far, far too many. Violence,
drunkenness and sexual abuse including abuse of minors less than 8
years old is all too common. And as Oz says, breaking & entering, auto
theft etc are routine.

The NSW Govt won't touch them. In Dubbo (biggish inland NSW city)
recently there was a petition signed by (IIRC) 11,000 people out of a
total population of 60K asking for a curfew on under-12's unless
accompanied by an adult. No race specified. The aborigines had a fit -
they know it's their kids who are doing all the crime and they don't
care enough to stop them. The State Premier said that only under very
exceptional circumstances (ie, never) would an aboriginal child be
removed from their natural parents.

Gonna take another 2 generations, IMO. The survivors might then start
acting like members of a 21st Century technological society.

One of the few times I agree with Oz. There you go.....

Sounds like a description of the Northern Native population.... lots of
spousal abuse, child abuse, suicide, alcoholism. gas sniffing... etc.

That's what happens when you shove 500 years of evolution onto a nomadic
people without tight supervision and direction and expect them to make the
change within 50 years. I remember 20 years ago when I visited some Inuk
friends... they were watching "Dallas" and thought everybody down south
lived like that. They are emulating what they have been exposed to and they
have been exposed to the worst our society has to offer.

The "Stewards of the Land" have now become the worst abusers of their
heritage. It's a shame. I doubt it will get better within our life time.
