Default Ferry cross the Mersey

Your photos are of the MV Cathlamet, one of the many Washington State
Ferries the ply the Puget Sound. As you can see, the weather can make up a
bit. There was one ferry, the MV Kalakala that was an art deco design that
was a terrible rough weather sailor with a great deal of pitch and roll even
in a moderate sea.
