So do they fleece people tied up to the dock or do they actually go
rolling down the river while they do their fleecing. |

First, here's their Web site... http://www.catfishbendcasino.com/ And here's a blurb from the Web site of the inn where we stayed: Catfish Bend Riverboat Casino (Riverview Park) Cruise the beautiful Mississippi aboard "Iowašs Friendliest Casino". This 1300 passenger vessel features unlimited gaming which includes all your favorite slots and table games. The third deck has fine dining, entertainment and a dance floor. Top deck offers a breathtaking view of the Mississippi. Hours: 24-hour gaming Wednesday through Sunday; Monday and Tuesday 8:00 a.m. through 2:00 a.m. Cruise season in Fort Madison is May through October with cruises Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until Noon. Dockside season is in Burlington (just 20 minutes from Fort Madison) from November through April. 800-372-2WIN. So, it sounds like they do "cruise" at times, but they were tied to the dock during the times when we were there. I can't tell you how depressing it was to watch old people with canes and walkers shuffling into this place only to come out with empty pockets. What a waste... -Vlad -- Vlad & Genny Kedrovsky Edina, Minnesota, USA vjkedrovsky at gmail dot com http://picasaweb.google.com/vjkedrovsky |

The casino boat in Clinton also cruises I believe Monday through Weds 1 - 3
but the season is almost over (1 more week only). My wife goes over there and plays the penny machine while I am at the library doing the book research. I think the most she has lost was $5 but is ahead of the game by a few bucks. Last of the big time high-rollers. I agree with Vlad - I saw an old woman in Vegas one time crying over a slot machine as she had obviously lost all her social security money. The sad part is that if anyone had gone over and handed her a ten to hold her over a bit, she would have turned right around and thrown it into the machine. "Vlad" wrote in message ... I think "old people " like some of my relatives go to casinos as a form of entertainment , with that small hope in the back of their mind that they might strike it rich . In the 30 years since gambling started in Atlantic City , I have only been in a casino 3 times , and have invested ( lost ) a total of maybe $25.00 . Its a suckers game with the house taking in more than they pay out........they have to or they fold up . I wish I could say I only invested $ 25.00 in State lotteries , but that would be telling a bold face lie .I did win $1076.00 in the Maryland Lottery way back when . Lee,
I've lived in NJ all my life and vacation about 25 miles from AC every year. I've been in the casinos for shows and I think I've dumped about $.35 (one quarter and a pair of nickels I had in my pockets while walking through the floor) into the slots. Absolutely no interest in their offerings. I'm not really one for the lottery either but my wife on the other hand...... Randy Canal Lee wrote in message ...
