let's see if I got this straight. *you* have a mashed up prop the manufacturer
is will to recondition for a mere $120, plus shipping both ways and handling
that *you* wonderful person that you are are willing to let go for a measely
$95 when anyone on the planet can buy said prop brand new for about $300, plus
shipping one way?

What a prince of a human being you are.

btw, *most* people who need a right hand 12" prop for a 7/8" shaft have Atomic
4 engine, AND virtually ALL of them want a 6" pitch, not a 5" pitch.

A lot of friends you have in this life, dontcha? should we start calling you
collect?

Martec prop is not 300.00 new, Jax. More like 7-800 bucks I think.

I haven't checked recently, but recall catalog prices on a two blade, folding
Martec 12" well under $400. Feathering props are another story.

12" Folding prop is 775.00 retail, I believe. Discount price is still around
650.00. My prop on the C&C 32 was 1200 and change some time ago.
He also says the prop is in good condition, but a buyer has the option for the
rebuild. He says buyers can come check out the prop as well. He'd do way better
by putting it on ebay.
Either way, it's a reasonable deal by far, Jax.

Price has gone up from last time I checked. Current list price, $575.
available from Defender for $536.

ames=yes&store=yes

Usual price for used is about $75 to $150. I was bothered, maybe still am, by
suggestion the prop may need factory reconditioning. I have never seen one
that could use reconditioning at all unless it had hit something. Maybe seller
was just being unusually helpful.

If the prop is is good condition it is worth its asking price. If it requires
factory reconditioning, perhaps consideration of a brand new prop is in order.

Jax:

I guess I erred on the side of giving too much information. It's just that I
pulled up Martec's website and found
a whole menu of things that they will do:
1. "Clean, rebalance and polish:$60.00" It has been thoroughly cleaned and
polished but I have no idea what would require "rebalancing". Is it like a car
wheel ?

2: "Redrill pivot holes in blades and hub: $40.00" Guess that would only be
necessary if they did #1.

3: "Oversize monel pivot pin:$12.00" Guess that would follow after drilling.

Then they list such hardware items as Monel cotter pins, shaft key, shaft nut.

Totalling all those items I came up with the $125.00 estimate. I would not do
any of it myself, except for buying new cotter pins and shaft key, but it
occurred to me that some purist might want everything perfect so provided the
info.

Guess I should have "KISS" (Keep it simple, stupid!)!

Anyway, I can assure any would be buyer that the prop is in "GOOD CONDITION"
and available for inspection.

Put that prop on ebay and you'll get at least double what you're asking!

This is now out on E-Bay, pursuant to "Bobsprit"'s suggestion. Dont't know if
will get any bids, but 40 lookers so far!

Thanks to the Group for support and advice!
