Good luck to everybody. We're gonna need it.

I even wish Obama well and hope he is ready for the challenges ahead of
him. We could have done worse.

We could have had Hillary.

I watched Palin's speech and suddenly aborted press conference today. She
is going to be the gift that keeps on giving.

Hate? That's a Republican characteristic. I think she's terrific, and
just the woman I want to see capture the 2012 GOP nomination.

Well give your fixation on Palin a break until 2012. Or are you republican
wieners and leaches already worried?

Wonder if that Jeb Bush from Florida might step up?

Almost forgot about him. He was a good governor and a likable fellow.

I remember from the few years we wintered in Florida that Jeb was very
popular and well regarded.
In fact, I really don't remember anybody, personally or in the media that
had any bad things to say about him. He was certainly on top of things when
it came to the 3 hurricanes we experienced during our time down there.

He would probably have to change his last name though, to be seriously
considered.

You may regret that statement. You may have to put up with her come 2013.
Obama could very likely be a 1 term candidate. The economic morass may even
be worse by then after the government, which is already on the hook for
about $5 trillion puts more into the mix. And like TARP, which required
oversight and Congress has still not appointed anybody to the position. I
doubt the R's will run her at the top of the ticket, but it may be anybody
the R's run will win. Just like Obama won this time on mostly the economic
meltdown, he could lose if the meltdown is still in major play.

You see Harry, a statement like that tells all.

We have no idea who will be running in 2012. We have no proof of how well
or badly Obama will govern. We have no idea how well or badly a Democrat
controlled Congress is going to perform. We have no idea which party or
person will be best for the situation and conditions in 2012.

With all these unknows, and 4 years away, you are already lined up to vote
Democratic.
Takes a lot of wind out of your sails with regard to your advocacy of a
particular candidate.

I was ready to denounce our Democrat led Congress for not appointing the
oversight inspector as required by the TARP legislation, but in doing a
little research I discovered that the person is supposed to be first
nominated by Bush. He hasn't done that yet, and a third of the 700B has
already been spent.

Just being fair.

Why? Is she going to read a newspaper between now and then? You think
those "classic" tv interviews of her exhibiting her ignorance are going
to disappear from tape? You think her brand of simple-minded social
conservatism is going to have broader appeal in 2012? Is she going to
have another baby? Will her youngest daughter get pregnant?

I can only hope Palin remains "active" on the national political scene,
to remind the voters over and over and over that there is nothing
between her ears.

She's terrific.
