You mean, by saying she wasn't going to answer the questions that were

Palin didn't do herself any more damage, but I'd bet polls show the
undecided voters thought Biden won handily.

Apparently so do most "undecided voters" who watched the debatess,

A fact checker, eh? :)

CNN fact checker is calling many more of Palin's comment's onto the carpet.
She said nothing of actual substance during the entire debate and blantantly
ignored several questions by simply repeating the same lines that her
handlers have been feeding her. She doesn't "know" much of this stuff at
all. She has simple memorized general comments about various issues. It
was obvious. The gop is just jumping for joy that she managed to not fall
flat on her face. But there was a couple of moments where you could detect
the deer in the headlights. The thought of her having to step into the
presidency is scary.

Palin did well by not falling off the stage, so I suppose she met the
expectations of her JoeSixPack fans. She looked completely scripted to
me, about 90 minutes wide and 30 seconds deep. Too bad there were no
real follow-up questions.

Biden looked as if he could step into the presidency in a second. Palin
looked as if she could dust the furniture in the oval office.

More important, McCain gave up on Michigan yesterday. Any day now,
McCain's campaign will go completely negative, because that is all that
is left for it.

I guess I misunderstood her...I took it that she meant that she wasn't
going to fall flat on her face by answering the questions in the way her
critics and the media expected...you know like on SNL or with Katie
Couric. She was going to be herself, not like her handlers forced her to

tight spot...men just don't attack women in polite society and get away

Apparently your opinion is not the one shared by the majority according to
the polls. Attacking her would have been a mistake and he knew it. Even if
you believe it was a draw, that's a win for Obama/Biden. It was clear to me
that all she did the entire time was repeat the messages she had memorized
from her handlers. She has no knowledge of the issues. The comment about
having a good conversation with Kissinger was total bs. All she did was
meet and greet those people in nyc to try to bolster her resume. She spent
no real time in deep discussions with any of them. She is about as
unqualified for the vp spot as a person could be.

You mean, by saying she wasn't going to answer the questions that were
being asked?

Palin didn't do herself any more damage, but I'd bet polls show the
undecided voters thought Biden won handily.

I guess I misunderstood her...I took it that she meant that she wasn't
going to fall flat on her face by answering the questions in the way her
critics and the media expected...you know like on SNL or with Katie
Couric. *She was going to be herself, not like her handlers forced her to
be in those previous interviews. *I thought Biden, like previous men she's
debated (in Alaska) underestimated her a little. *Of course, he was in a
tight spot...men just don't attack women in polite society and get away
with it.

I called it pretty much a draw, which is pretty damn good for a gal going up
against a 35 year veteran in congress. He should have been able to mop the
floor with her, but he didn't even come close to doing that.- Hide quoted text -

Agreed.

*Even with the poll stating that they thought Biden did better in the
debate, some 84% stated that Palin did better than they expected.

For a new comer I thought she did pretty good.- Hide quoted text -

Well, Scott.

I'm actually hoping she'll be elected because it might bring back the
"Northern Exposure" reruns.

Yes, Northern Exposure was one of the very few fiction shows I've ever
liked and watched. That show was done with class, and at times it was
downright freaky! Loved the way they cast the quirky characters!- Hide quoted text -

- Show quoted text -

Absolutely!

I didn't really care for it much when it first came out, but the more
I watched it, the better it was.

Hilarious, and obviously well done.

Better than the sitcom "Carter Country" during Jimmy's administration.

I think Palin demonstrated last night that she'd be a great hostess on a
teevee "reality" show. She's soooooo bubbly...and empty-headed, she'd be
just perfect. Or maybe she could replace that mindless blonde bimbo
conservative on The View...

As if that was his intent? If Biden was perceived as beating up on a
"poor little hockey mom", America might not be feeling as good about him
today. Palin did much better than expected, but then, IMHO, so did
Biden. If you perceive the debates as a draw, I would suggest a draw
goes to the leaders, Obama/Biden.

I think the number who think she did better than they expected is the
number who expected her to completely melt down, and run off the stage
in tears.

As long as she remained standing upright, she did better than
expected.

Indeed.

Apparently, if you are a member of the GOP base, the fact that Palin
didn't fall off the stage is enough to claim victory. Biden did
precisely what he was supposed to do...he displayed his knowledge and
depth of knowledge, he pounded McCain into the ground on at least a
handful of serious issues, and he was gracious to his opponent. Palin
look as much out of her league as always, regurgitating her programmed
talking points.

At the moment, Obama still has a just out of the margin of error lead in
most of the national polls, and is significantly ahead in far more
important electoral vote count derived from the state-by-state polls. If
that is still true on Tuesday before the next debate between the ticket
leaders, then the Palin effect will have been...zip.

If asked any direct questions on which you haven't a friggin clue, just take
a Palin approach and ramble aimlessly about being a mom, mayor, governor, an
energy genius, best recipe for potato salad, etc. like she did with 90% of
the questions she was asked last night or during any of the interviews.- Hide quoted text -

With the exception of Gov. Mayor, and Potato Salad, you could say the

You've not provided one post in which you discussed any serious issue
cogently and in a civil manner. Therefore, there is no reason to engage

Learn how to behave and demonstrate it, and I will consider engaging you

Here, duck these questions. And if you don't understand them tell me
which parts you don't understand and maybe someone can help you out:

My questions were clear and consice.
Do you know what the "Fairness Doctrine" is?
Do you support it and why?
Are you familiar with the voter privacy union bill?
Do you support it and why?
If you can't answer or understand those questions, you have no
business trying to come across as informed, no matter how many
insults
and deflections you throw at me

Try again.

I guarantee you I know more about the "issues" you brought up than you

or listen to reich-wing radio.

In fact, I have a 300+ page printed notebook on the EFCA that I've read,

I'm not sure why any of the issues you mentioned are on your hot plate.
They certainly don't affect you.
