Thank goodness, somebody finally woke up. Prediction: Olbermann will quit after giving another unscheduled on the air preaching, blasting the network's decision. His ego won't allow this to go unchallenged. He needs to have the last word. Good plan for him. Never saw somebody go downhill so fast. Thought his head would explode. Apparently it did. Matthews is very knowledgeable, like a walking encyclopedia, and creative in thought. Probably because he's half nuts. Brokaw is a gem. Gregory is very very good. Keeps an even keel in a storm. Williams can be flaky. I'll bet Scarborough feels pretty good about this after Uberhead, er, Olbermann got on his case about telling the truth about some recent polls. These are just my opinions, and I may be off-the-wall myself. --Vic. I actual like Matthews, for the reasons you stated. He at least tries to keep his personal political views in check, not always successfully, but he tries. Although an acknowledged Dem ticket supporter, he went after another prominent Obama supporter pretty hard one day, challenging him to cite any Obama sponsored legislation or senate achievements. The guy couldn't and Matthews made mincemeat out of him. Brokaw is a class act. Williams is trying, but hasn't established himself yet. Gregory is fine, except he talks too much IMO. Several times while giving his commentary during the RNC, I found myself wishing he would shut up for a moment so we could hear what the current speaker was saying. Scarborough is a nut case. He too, is led by a massive ego, IMO. Betcha he's next to go. But the worst is (was) Olbermann. He is the poorest excuse for a journalist on record, I think. 4 million a year for *that*!? Eisboch |

I found it unbelievable that Mathews would do that.- Hide quoted text - - Show quoted text - Well, turns out it's just another stunt by MSNBC.. Oberman and Matthews will in fact be replaced by Gregory!!!! LOL, what a joke.. it won't work, they are and will remain dead last in the ratings, until they "really" come out of the tank.. I suppose they will eventually hire Helen to represent the right, so they can be fair and balanced... ![]() |

The guy couldn't and Matthews made mincemeat out of him. He's got a mean streak. I saw what you mention - and a couple other similar incidents. It would have done to just say "You can't. Let's talk about something you might know about." I've seen him take that gentler, but just as effective dismissive approach many times. But when he's on the rag he enjoys humiliating people a bit too much. Brokaw is a class act. Williams is trying, but hasn't established himself yet. Gregory is fine, except he talks too much IMO. Ended up looking bad because Schuster gave him an easy out, but he was either too pig-headed to take it, or too steamed to even see it. But the worst is (was) Olbermann. He is the poorest excuse for a journalist on record, I think. 4 million a year for *that*!? A real blue collar Democrat "working man" if I ever saw one. Damn, I'm turning into a gossip. --Vic |
