Perhaps wannabe boaters should be forced to take literacy examinations

D'oh.

Maybe he wants a suggestion for good LED lights. I have bought a set from
Bass Pro Shops. Lasted about 18 months. Set from West Marine, recalled
after I had tossed them after a year. I think the ones I have now are from
Cabelas, but have only been on 6 months. So jury out on them. Warranteed
for 5 years, but the wanted you to return them with original receipt and
original packaging. Yes, like everybody will keep the package for 5 years.

It's not something I worry about. In all the years I have been
trailerboating, I have had two bulbs burn out for unknown reasons...
one a sidelight and the other the "turn signal" filament at the rear.
The funny thing was the rear light was mounted on the top of a guide
post and was never submerged. These were "regular," old-style
incandescent bulbs.

Oh...and sometimes I disconnect the wiring harness and sometimes I
don't. :)

I've read posts on real boating discussion boards that discuss the good,
the bad and the ugly about LED trailer lights. I think there are too
many variables in manufacture, assembly, installation and patterns of
use to state LEDs are preferable for trailers dunked into salt water.

If a taillight-brake-turn signal bulb blows on my trailer, I can replace
it in five minutes. I keep a couple of new bulbs in the glove
compartment of my SUV.

Frankly, I am far more obsessive about my trailer brakes. I carry a two
gallon garden sprayer with me, and rinse off the trailer's disc brakes
after I launch the boat and park the vehicle and trailer. Bulbs are
cheap; brakes are not.

Probably the best LED's would be found at a truck joint. Semi-trucks
depend on their tail lights

Tim, could you possibly consider that I may have been interested in the LED
taillights that glenr9 bought and used? Harry didn't post all his crap
because he was trying to be helpful.

I can understand and sympathize with the problems faced by Harry, JimH, and
Donnie which cause them to post their ****.

I can't understand anyone of sound mind turning Harry's **** into something
'credible' by responding to it.

To each his own.

Semi-truck drivers try not to launch their trailers on local boat ramps too
often, so they may not worry about immersion of their tail lights.

Only a dip**** would screw up such a nice thread.

Another boating related thread gone down the hill. Thanks John.

Don't know why you're thanking me for Harry's comment about Reggie. Can you
read?

Eh?

I don't think Tim has been around long enough to know how harsh wafa
can get. I mean, so far this season we have kept him somewhat in
check. Most of the OG would probably say wafa is at about only 25-30%
of what he can do. Tim has not seen the death threats, wishes of
horrible diseases, lies and deciept about everone and everything
decent about America, and his horrific statements about child rape and
the protection of those who would do it.. Wishes of that type of
horror on others kids here.. the list goes on...

On the other hand, I think it won't be much of a problem this season
either as long as it's just Tim, Dick, and the three stooges talking
to wafa (Tim and Dick are not stooges).

A note to Tim, as Dick already knows this.. Once wafa gets going, he
can make the foul posts of the likes of Salty and JoeSpareBedroom/
Eatmetrolls/slammed, look like a love note from a school girl... The
vial hatred that guy can produce is astounding.. But then again, like
Dick, you are free to converse, that's what we do here...

He probably doesn't need your help either, Don. I'd hate to see him in the
same league as you and JimH, promoting Harry's bad behavior.

But, it's his choice.
