Thanks for that tip. I recently bought a new "efficient" washing machine and they didn't have an "energy rebate" program here like in Oregon. Guy there reported he got a $125 utility rebate and a $146 state tax credit on a new washer that was already on sale. I looked and ComEd will pay 25 bucks for the fridge and haul it away. Now my decision is whether I should just leave it on the curb for the scrappers, who might feed a hungry little kid with the proceeds, or they might buy beer with the proceeds. Or schedule a pickup with ComEd. I'm not sure what I'd do with that money - maybe buy a large stuffed cheese & sausage pizza at Giordano's. Or some beer. There's some considerations here about what is the best approach for me, best for the scrappers, and best for the national economy. Wait. I'll just ask my wife, and do what she says. That usually works good, and I can blame her for any bad results if it doesn't. --Vic VERY wise, Vic. |
