Hope your daughter gets well quick - I know how that feels. Thanks, man. Both forearm bones in both arms! They did surgery on them, and there are "pins" involved in some form or fashion. I don't know how they work, but in a week she goes to have them cleaned, and in a couple of weeks or so, have them removed. They do it right in the office, so they must protrude from the skin? Anywho, then it's permenant casts. Thanks again......... Yep - it's a version of a device called an external fixator. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/External_fixation It all depends on how bad the break is, the stability issue (with respect to how fractured the actuall fracture is (odd way to put it, but that's the way of it) where it's located and the age of the victim. Good luck to her - been there, done that and while it's not fun, at least she's young and the recovery time will be appropriately shorter. Nurse Loogy - I like that. *:) Man, that thing looks awful! I'm sure she doesn't realize what that looks like, and I don't want her to see it for the first time in the doc's office. Thanks for the link, I'm going to show her to get her ready! |
