Throw Vista away.

On CNBC this morning, there was a segment on Vista and the guests to a
person said Vista is an unmitigated diaster and may be a sign of the
begining of the end for Microsoft as a market leader.

I saw a survey where they asked Vista users if they would prefer keeping
Vista or using the previous Windows version they were using. 90% of the
Vista users wished they could have their old OS (WinXP, Win98 etc.)

At one time, Vista's problems were writtten about and discussed in the
computer magazaines and forums, today you read about it in CNN, ABC, AP
and all of the other mainstream media.

Over 110,000 people have already signed the "Save WinXP" petition. MS
may want to put on blinders and ignore the users and try to bully their
way past all of this, but if they do, the experts on CNBC will be correct.

SWS,

I really think it will be the business users and computer companies who
will force MS to realize they will have to rethink their whole approach
to forcing Vista a broken OS into the marketplace.

Dell has actually used Vista as a selling tool to sell their PC's by
offering to NOT to install Vista.

Dell offers Windows XP to save folk from Vista
"Downgrade" service

YOU SELL COMPUTERS, but you can't flog them with Vista on.

On the other hand, start flogging Windows-free PCs and an army of
soft-footed voles will beat a path to your door and nibble at your
margins. HWat to do?

Well, you could take a leaf out of Dell's book, and supply Vista like
you're supposed to, but install XP instead because that's what your
customers want.

Says Dell: "With Windows Vista® Downgrade Service from Dell, you get a
simple way to migrate to Windows Vista on your schedule.

Dell will factory-install Windows XP Professional and give you the DVD
to install Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate when you’re
ready (you will also receive the DVD for Windows XP Professional).

Dell will also support both operating systems on your PC throughout the
limited warranty period
