Actually found a *major* software company providing real tech support.
Had a minor problem with "MiniTab 15," a stat program. Couldn't get the MANOVA modeling to work for me. Used the on-line query form, got a response in an hour, along with a suggestion I "phone home" for additional help. Did so, got a guy who spoke perfect English, understood my problem, took care of it. Asked him where he was located... "We're a Canadian company...we're in Canada." Well. No wonder. Also have had quality tech support help from the purveyors of some of the smaller but really useful programs aimed at the Apple Mac universe. My favorite Mac program remains SuperDuper, a well-documented backup program that is slicker than bear guts on a doorknob. |
