Found a boat I am really interested in.

Going to eye-ball it next week.

Not going to tell you yet.

Nice try, but too late. Just got off the phone with the broker.

Gonna re-name it the 'Lord Richard'?

No way. I might have to name it "Mrs.E." to smooth out the purchase, if
it happens. Or, maybe a modified version of this would look good on the
transom:

http://tinyurl.com/4232lw

There's a lot to be accomplished before worrying about the name. I haven't
seen the boat yet (going down there Monday), and am only relying on the
broker's description of condition, etc. I've learned enough about boats to
judge how they were maintained and I'll know right away if an offer is
appropriate or not. I've also learned that broker's often tend to be
optimistic in their evaluation of boats they are trying to sell.

We also have to finish the sale of the Grand Banks. (deal I made with
Mrs.E. .... no more "two" boat ownership).
The out-of-water survey was completed yesterday and everything looks fine,
except whoever the surveyor was didn't know what he was talking about on one
subject and it led to some confusion. That was resolved and the boat will
be launched next week for the sea trial. Assuming that goes well, the deal
is done.

If I like the Sabreline, I'll probably make an offer contingent on
successful closing on the GB, plus the normal survey, mechanic's inspection
stuff. The closing on the GB will be within two weeks, so it all works
out, timing wise.

That is, assuming the Sabreline checks out ok. Mrs. E. suggested that I
drill a hole in the middle wooden seat of the old 13' Boston Whaler, stick a
beach umbrella in the hole and tie the boat up in our 55' slip at Kingman.
She'll donate a small cooler for a six pack of beer so I can enjoy myself
this summer.

An early congratulations to you! She is a fine looking boat Richard.

Thank you for the comment, but it's a bit premature.

I haven't even *seen* it yet.

Heck, I'd donate a cooler for a case of beer just to see it and take a
picture. :)

I guess so.........but you know you will buy it if it is everything the
broker says it is. ;-)

Not necessarily. It needs to warm the cockles of his heart.
