Heh, heh, heh - payback is a bitch.

Which is worse, seeing a prostitute or stashing $90,000 worth of bribe
money? The (dis)Honorable William Jefferson ought to be in jail.

Usually, we wait for the indictment, trial, and finding of guilty before
putting people in jail. Well, it used to be that way in this country. No
longer, eh?

Probably won't be indicted or tried, assuming he resigns. He hired one of
the prostitutes .... not exactly a high level crime.
He hasn't lied to a grand jury or to the public .... yet.

He's still a despicable person in the eyes of many, including some in his
own political party. Power hungry and ruthless.
The fact that he dragged his wife up to the podium with him, certainly an
embarrassment to her, to admit his wrong doing speaks volumes of his lack of
compassion for anyone but himself.

If this is true, and if he actually hired a escort at $5000 who worked
in New York and traveled to Washington, DC, he violated the Mann Act
otherwise known as the The United States White-Slave Traffic Act of
1910.

Which is a felony.

Now, in my own mind, prostitution isn't necessarily a high level crime
as such. Morally problematic I agree, but a crime? Eh - not so much.

However, in Spitzer's case, he's an arrogant, holier-than-thou prick
who wantonly used criminal penalty threats in civil trials and used
dirt and personal destruction tactics both in the court room and in
politics. He busted high level prostitution rings in largely splashy
self promotions of sanctimonious bull**** and his "highly ethical"
approach to politics. HA!!!

If any politician deserves to hung out to dry, it's him.

What's really interesting about this is if he does resign, which seems
likely given the circumstances, according to most pundits, his Lt.
Governor will have to resign also - can't remember the reason, but
he's not capable of being governor.

Which means that the Speaker of the House is next in line and that's
the guy he tried to destroy in TrooperGate.

Irony is so much fun. :)

He's legally blind although I am not sure that would disqualify him.

You have the court of public opinion mixed up with the court of law.

Spitzer all but told us what he did in the hotel with the woman.

So? It's not my business what he "did" with the woman in the hotel room.
If state funds weren't used to pay for it, it's no one else's business,
either.

Wasn't he testifying before Congress the next day? Who paid for his trip
to DC? Who paid for the hotel room? Wasn't it the state of New York? He
should investigate himself for corruption.

"Inappropriate conduct."
That's all you'll get out of him.
Now, if she talks, different story.
Like Dick Morris's girls.
Every time I see Dick Morris, I see him munching whore toe.

If I see you go into a gentleman's club with a wad of 20's and three
hours later I see you come out with empty handed. I know what you were
doing.
