Ok - anyway, it came back yesterday - I had XP Home, now I have XP Pro - can't figure that one out. But, during the course of the repair, I also lost my mother board, so the drives were backed up with the subsequent loss of programs, but the data was ok. However, for some reason, when I started the beast back up, I found that I now own something called Open Office. Anybody know what the hell that is? Oh, and while I'm on the subject, the new version of Thunderbird sucks. Can't they just leave well enough alone? Yup, it is a great FREE Office Suite to compete with MS Office. When I purchased my last computer, I removed MS Office from my old computer and transfered it to my new computer. I gave the old computer away, and installed Free Office so the person would have a working computer. I asked them how they liked it, and it worked great. You can save documents as a *.doc file so it anyone with MS Office can use it. The kids I gave it to, were using it for high school, and they would email their assignments in. Their teachers all had MS Office. PS - Did you see the photo link I emailed you? |
