![]() "HK" wrote in message ... He's in a halfway house, hopefully on his way to a "fullway" house. :) I wouldn't hold my breath...those %^%& politicians are slippery *******s. We would love to nail a former prime minister ( Ronnie Reagan bum boy) up here, but with his Conservative party currently in power....... he shucks & jives with the best of them. |

Have you stopped and taken a look at why the Conservative party is in power? You can bitch about all you want but, a majority of your fellow citizens disagree with you. |

Liberals just finished with a significant corruption scandal. Now the conservatives too are up to it. There are problems in only having one active branch of government, something the forefounders of the US got real right. Must more aristocratic than the US. The Canadian government is in essence a 5 year dictatorship if it is not in a minority government situation. The Canadian senate for example, appointed by the ruling party is a geriatric yes fest. Not once in Canadian history has the Canadian senate actually blocked a piece of legislation from eventually becoming law. Totally ineffective and a waste of money. British parliamentary hand-me-down with all the warts. There is no congress. And our bill of rights is secular. I always admired "We the people..." -- freaking insightful of the US founders. Ours was drawn up by a drunken aristocrat. |

No doubt in my mind. Not just the British though, don't forget France's influence (Quebec). |
