One of the worse thing's I've ever seen was a friend's dad in Jellico, TN a miner with black lung before unions made mining semi-safe. He wasn't over 50 at the time that I knew him, and he parked his car right next to the house. He would walk to the car from his favorite seat at the kitchen table, it would be 10 or 12 paces. He would be totally spent. Just gasping for air. |
