Do you understand the differenence between "in danger of recession" and "in a recession"? Don't bother to answer as you obviously don't. Why don't you explain it to us, Mr. Cement Truck Driver, or whatever it is you do for a living? The technical definition is a drop in GNP for two consecutive quarters. We're close, but not there yet. I can just hear -barely- the Republicans whining this fall that "we're not in a recession, everything is fine, the rich are still rich, and the barely employed and unemployed and homeless don't matter." The same thing was going on 8 years ago when Clinton's economy tanked in his last year. I don't believe it is going to fly this election cycle. The Democrat's want to tax us to prosperity, we know how that doesn't work. But what ever did happen to the most famous of conservatives stances on a "balanced budget amendment"? Earmarks and entitlements. We need to dump entitlements and make people responsible for their own wants and needs. Just because you fail to plan for your future shouldn't mean I have to pay for it. |

Ever read the tale of the grasshopper and the ants? Not to say we should not help them.........but we should not continue to support them if they are capable of working. The problem with govt. entitlement programs is that folks get lazy and depend on them. No need for anyone to live at poverty levels if they are healthy and able to work. Too many fat lazy ass people out their soaking the system we are paying for. |
