Yes, and I understand why.
You do? Why is that, W'hine?
The east coast is more urban, more traffic, more crime and more like
the place the people were trying to get away from in the first place..
People come to Florida "to get away from it all",
then they want to bring it all here.
Never had any "crime" problems in all the years I've been visiting south
Florida. Don't spend a lot of time "driving around" when I am there. I
do love the beaches, the multi-cultural atmosphere, the art galleries,
the other cultural venues, the fishing, the fabulous restaurants and the
shopping between Boca and Miami Beach. SW area of Florida is just too
dull and distant for my taste, but I do understand why many go there to
"get away" from it all.- Hide quoted text -

Well, the atmosphere has certainly changed. When I was a kid, my
auntie owned a row of condos on Ft. Lauderdale beach.

It certainly has changed. The first time I went to the Miami area, I was
about 15 or 16, and I was the guest of my girlfriend's family. We stayed
at a "motel-hotel" in Ft. Lauderdale. It's long gone, as is its rather
famous owner.- Hide quoted text -

Could have been my auntie, they had a real nice spread , right on the
water. Nice gardens, probably 150-250 feet of frontage on the water...
But I was probably about 8 yo at the time.- Hide quoted text -

No, no. You know Harry, it'll be someone very famous........
Someone only Harry could make up a lie about.

Not so fast...that might explain why justwait is always in trouble with the
police.. ;-)

You know, I can remember the name of the gangster, but I can't seem to
recall the name of the place we stayed. I do remember the gal and her
day, though. Alas, she went to nursing school, graduated, and
married...a car dealer.

The retired gangster's real first name was Francesco. I don't know about
a "T."
